Jennifer Townsend Auge is a watercolor artist who grew up watching her mother, V. Mae Townsend, teach oil painting in the art studio in their home. Jennifer enjoyed the art classes in high school, taught by Theresa Wright at Holy Spirit High School. In college, graphic communications was her field of study and received her Bachelor's degree. From there, ad design and page layout for a local newspaper, The Beachcomber News, was Jennifer’s occupation for over 10 years. Eventually Jennifer picked up the paintbrush again under the instruction of one of her mother's former students, Betty Jane Riggs LaSpina, learning oil painting and switching to watercolors under the direction of Marge Moorehouse. Putting down the paint brush to raise her daughter and run her own graphic design business - D-Zyne Services for over 20 years, it was lifted with classes taught by the talented Kathy English. Graphic design is still one of Jennifer's talents but now, painting full time is what Jennifer enjoys doing most.
Jennifer has displayed her work in galleries and businesses around the St. Petersburg Florida area including Suntan Art Gallery where she has won several awards, AdvocateMD in Venice, FL, and has been invited several times to display at Skyway Marina Art Exhibition at Eckerd College. A native of South Jersey, Jennifer has been active with Galloway Cultural Arts Center where she has won several awards, Absecon Cultural Arts Alliance where she displays at Absecon’s Art in the Park, Ocean City Fine Arts League (Art on Asbury), and Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Science. Jennifer and her mother are the resident artists displaying at Oyster Creek Restaurant and Boat Bar in Leeds Point, New Jersey. She also maintains a website - www.JenniferTownsendAuge.com.
