Ocean City Fine Arts League
History and Mission Statement

Formed in 2002 by James F Penland and Joe Kardonne, Ocean City Fine Arts League has become a vessel for community arts projects, hosted smaller art organizations, promoted and trained individual artists, and created outreach programs and events for the community at large. The League is a co-op of artists and with the help of a staff of devoted volunteers and administrative assistance, maintains an art gallery, open seven days a week that provides citywide event information. The main objective of the League is to educate the public about local arts and arts in general through internal exhibits and external events, to provide a facility to nurture artists in their development and to showcase local talent.

The Ocean City Fine Arts League is a 501(c)3 non profit organization for the arts. It is a multi-arts organization that empathizes the visual and performing arts. The League encouages participation, inspiration and an increased awareness of the arts, while placing emphasis on the work of emerging artists. It promotes public participation and appreciation for the arts through exhibition and sale, education and special events designed to outreach a diverse audience locally and throughout the region.
